With Holistic Zinc, you get your daily zinc requirement in a single capsule. The mineral zinc is one of the body's most important micronutrients and is involved in more than 300 different enzyme reactions in the body - one of the body's real superheroes, in other words.

The product contains three organic forms of zinc - malate, picolinate and bisglycinate. The latter is amino acid chelated zinc from Albion®, which has a significantly better absorption capacity than non-chelated forms, because it forms free ions in the intestine that are necessary for effective absorption.

Zinc is found in oysters, shellfish, beef, beans, sunflower seeds, almonds and pumpkin seeds, among other things. However, it is one of the minerals that the body has the most difficulty absorbing from food and we cannot store zinc in the body either, which means that we must continuously ingest it. Zinc absorption is favored by protein, while phytic acid, which is found in plant seeds such as cereals, legumes and nuts, inhibits absorption. Vegetarians should therefore check that they are getting enough zinc. Zinc deficiency is also one of the most common mineral deficiencies among Swedes.

The benefits of zinc

- For those of you who exercise regularly, zinc is one of the most important minerals to keep an eye on. Zinc contributes to the normal metabolism of carbohydrates, fat and protein and is therefore important for both metabolism and muscle growth.

- Zinc is included in the most common enzyme (carbonic anhydrase) that is used both for the function of the sense of smell and in our taste buds. Zinc is also needed for our production of saliva. Without saliva, the taste chemicals cannot be transported to the taste buds of the tongue, which use them to distinguish between sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami. - Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system and acts as an antioxidant by protecting cells against oxidative stress.

- The fact that zinc also contributes to normal cognitive function is not so bad for your brain either.

- It also contributes to maintaining bone structure, normal hair, normal nails, normal skin, acid-base balance and vision.

- For those of you who are or want to become pregnant, it may be good to know that zinc contributes to normal fertility and reproduction and to maintaining normal testosterone levels in the blood.
